Novel three-dimensional graphene-like carbon frameworks (3DGLCFs) were prepared.

The 3DGLCFs possess graphene-like network structure and high specific surface area.

The 3DGLCFs outperform commercial graphene for detecting small biomolecules.

Ultra-low detection limits are obtained for detecting ascorbic acid, dopamine and uric acid.
