Paleomagnetic dating, constrained by magnetic and geochemical data, was successful. Deposition rates are generally low but vary geographically and in time. A radiocarbon age offset of ca 1350 year could be determined for the southern part of the bay. Crustal uplift and gradual reactivation and re-deposition of sediments are suggested to be the reason for the radiocarbon age offset.
