Cyphos IL 104 is a promising extractant for zinc and cadmium. High separation factors for separation of Zn/Cd from associated metal ions. Zn is quantitatively recovered with high purity from zinc plating mud. Cyphos IL 104 can be recycled without any decrease in its extraction efficiency.
