The foams can be triggered by both CO2/N2 and light stimuli with a single switchable surfactant. The foamability and foam stability of AZO-B4 is similar as cationic surfactant CTAB. The foaming/defoaming cycles based on CO2/N2 or light are reversible at least three times. All the foaming/defoaming was performed at room temperature.
