Influence of hook type and live bait on the hooking performance of inline spinners in the context of catch-and-release brook trout Salvelinus fontinalis fishing in lakes
Incidence of injury was not significantly related to lure hook type. Using live bait did not significantly increase incidence of injury or mortality. Reflex impairment was not a reliable indicator of injury or probability of mortality. Short-term mortality was infrequent but significantly associated with hook location.
