The RFSZ is characterized by transpressional kinematics. Across the zone shortening estimate for the RFSZ is ~ 20.3%. This percentage translates to 166 m of shortening within this 650 m zone. This shortening is accommodated by 174 m of extrusion. The deformation in the RFSZ is largely general flattening.
