Mechanical properties of Cu nanoparticles are estimated by MD simulations. Involves both tensile and compressive modeling under ultra-high strain rate loading. Cu nanoparticles are several times stronger than bulk Cu. The strength properties of Cu nanoparticles are highly size dependent. The model can give guideline for designing nanoparticles under mechanical loading.
