The Muller matrix of randomly distributed, densely packed spheres are investigated. The effects of multiple scattering and dependent scattering are analyzed. The accuracy of radiative transfer theory for densely packed spheres is discussed. Dependent scattering correction takes effect at medium size parameter or smaller. Performance of dependent scattering correction deteriorates at large size parameter.
