Half-sandwich ruthenium(II) complexes with water-soluble Schiff base ligands: Synthesis and catalytic activity in transfer hydrogenation of carbonyl compounds
Four new ionic Schiff-base ligands have been synthesized. Their selective coordination as N,N-chelates to an arene-ruthenium(II) fragment affords highly water-soluble complexes. The derivatives prepared have proved to be active in the transfer hydrogenation of ketones and aldehydes in aqueous media.
