Ethnic congruence of music and food affects food selection but not liking

Spanish or Italian instrumental music was played in a university dining hall. Both seafood paella (Spanish) and chicken parmesan (Italian) were offered. Larger proportion of diners chose paella when hearing Spanish rather than Italian music. Ethnicity of music did not affect entrée liking but music was soft where eating. Ethnicity of music affects selection but not liking of food in a dining hall.
