Combination of CuO and CeO2 yielded synergy for Hg0 oxidation under SCR atmosphere. 99.0% Hg0 oxidation rate was observed on the CuCeTi catalyst at 200 °C and high GHSV. Enough Lewis acid sites scavenged the competitive adsorption between NH3 and Hg0. Complete recovery of Hg0 oxidation activity was quickly achieved after cutting off NH3.
