Two red seabream hormone-sensitive lipase genes (HSL1 and HSL2) were cloned.
Ex vivo growth hormone (GH) treatment were performed on liver and adipose tissue.
GH increased HSL phosphorylation and mRNA levels in both tissues.
However, GH and fasting induced two HSL isoform genes in different manners.
Other hormone(s) may contribute to fasting-induced HSL up-regulation.
