Ebselen exhibits potent antifungal activity against Candida and Cryptococcus spp. Ebselen rapidly kills fungi within 2 h of treatment. Ebselen induces cell death by regulating GSH and ROS production. Ebselen shows potent in vivo antifungal activity in C. elegans models of infection.
