8 variants of carbon nanotube sheet were tested to relate tensile performance with manufacturing and microstructural details Enhanced (faster) production without post-processing acid treatment reduced tensile strength (45%) and stiffness (67%) Acid treatment improved tensile strength (78%) and stiffness (88%) by reducing impurities and consolidating sheet layers Increase of areal density does not improve tensile performance, rather volumetric density if impurities are not increased
