A diffusive sampling device (DSD-DNPH) has been developed for collection of ppb levels of 21 carbonyl compounds in indoor air. It is comprised of silica gel coated with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (DNPH) as the absorbent, a porous sintered polyethylene tube (PSP-diffusion filter) which acts as a diffusive membrane, and a small polypropylene syringe (PP-reservoir) which is used for the elution of the analytes from the absorbent. As the diffusive membrane comprises the entire cylindrical surface of the tube, it allows radial exposure from all sides. A side-by-side comparison was made with active samplers, demonstrating good correlation (formaldehyde r2
