Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) inhibited the sintering and reduction of Pd nanoparticles. Activity was improved for supported Pd catalysts with PVA modified method. PVA modified method minimized the catalyst deactivation. This work provides an insight of the regeneration strategies for Pd catalysts.
