Dense gas-particle suspension upward flow used as heat transfer fluid in solar receiver: PEPT experiments and 3D numerical simulations

Particle motion is measured in an upflow bubbling fluidized bed using PEPT. The application is to design of direct solar receivers. Results are compared with Euler-Euler numerical simulations (NEPTUNE_CFD). Velocity profiles are largely correctly predicted; discrepancies are discussed.
