A new deck system is proposed in this research. This novel deck had sufficient cracking and ultimate capacity. The proposed deck is to eliminate the need for conventional steel reinforcement. Rapid construction is achieved in this novel deck system. The primary structural mechanism in the deck slabs is referred to arching action. Restraint rods spacing and span-to-depth ratio had strong effect on failure loads. Rectangular supporting beams can provide a more efficient lateral restraint system. Loading position at the third span could result in unstable failure mode.
