Sleep and social functioning links have been understudied among adolescents with ASD. Poor sleep in adolescents with ASD is common and may compromise social interactions. Daytime sleepiness and sleep problems were correlated with more discordant peer relationships. Sleep problems were not significantly associated with closeness to peers. Daytime sleepiness and poor nocturnal sleep were linked to discordant peer relationships.
