LSM and Selective Laser Surface Melting (SLSM) of Al-Si and Al/SiC were obtained. SLSM refines the eutectic phase, not affecting the α-matrix in Al-Si and Al/SiCp. SLSM of Al-Si alloys increases hardness and toughness of β-phase. SLSM of Al/SiCp improves particle integration and refines particles vicinity. LSM refines microstructure, dilutes precipitates, and no Al4C3 is formation.
