Distribution patterns of Malesian polypores are reviewed. Many polypore species are known only from Malesia and its adjacent areas. Some of the highland Malesian polypores are also distributed in temperate East Asia. Some widespread species actually include cryptic species. Distributions of a few species are possibly related to their host preferences.
