A novel combined approach of diffuse reflectance UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy and multivariate analysis for non-destructive examination of blue ballpoint pen inks in forensic application

Chemometrics & UV–Vis NIR spectroscopy is applied to differentiate 57 blue ballpoint ink samples. Principal Components (PCs), and K-mean cluster analysis is applied for pairwise discrimination. Comparison of DP obtained by destructive and nondestructive UV–Vis spectroscopy. DP of 99.46% is obtained, not reported by any other group. Fast, Cost-effective, Reliable method to discriminate ink samples.
