We used giving up densities to measure habitat and patch selection.

When food was equal across habitats, oribi preferred feeding in the safest habitats.

As food availability increased, oribi started to forage in the risky woodlands.

In addition, oribi increased their use of risky patches in these woodlands.

This led to an increase in risk-taking behaviour over multiple spatial scales.
