Investigates the hydroelastic response of the full-scale marine sail mounted hydroplanes system in viscous flow using CFD/CSD two-way coupling method. Lift coefficient is computed by CFD leading to a modification of the Theodorsen’s model. The results show that the hydroplanes system is free from classical flutter problem for high mass density values. For this hydroplanes system, freeplay nonlinearity induce LCO only at low speeds, causing water noise. Static hydroelastic phenomenon may reduce hydroplanes operating efficiency due to freeplay nonlinearities.
