The process described herein for fabricating impedance-type humidity sensors is simple and reduces labor cost. Novel humidity-sensing material was fabricated based on 1-(4-carboxylic acid phenyl)-2,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole that was doped with alkali salts or a mixture of KOH and K2CO3. Impedance, sensitivity and linearity of 1-(4-carboxylicacidphenyl)-2,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrrole can be modified by the added alkali salts or a mixture of KOH and K2CO3, making it suitable for use at low humidity.
