Coupled texture and non-Schmid effects on yield surfaces of body-centered cubic polycrystals predicted by a crystal plasticity finite element approach

A crystal plasticity finite element model incorporating non-Schmid effects is developed. A finite element cell procedure is developed for calculating polycrystalline yield surfaces. The role of non-Schmid terms on the shape of the polycrystalline yield surface is revealed. Non-Schmid effects can enhance or suppress the effects of texture on plastic anisotropy.
