The 10-year field experiment yielded valuable insights. On grassland, non vegetation-destroying application techniques were successful. Immobilisation of heavy metals by gravel sludge and red mud is sustainable. Cd concentration in grass-mixture crops met the threshold for fodder. Soil microbial activity and biomass increased by gentle remediation options.
