Quantitative proteomic changes during post myocardial infarction remodeling reveals altered cardiac metabolism and Desmin aggregation in the infarct region
Proteome of infarct and non infarct zones compared as functions of differential oxidative stress during post MI remodeling. 285 proteins were present in at least 2 of 3 biological replicates with 111 proteins showing altered expression. 9 functional categories were involved with myocardial metabolism being the chief cellular process regulated. Cellular cytoskeletal architecture was remodeled due to aggregate formation by Desmin.
