Characterization of microRNAs by deep sequencing in red claw crayfish Cherax quadricarinatus haematopoietic tissue cells after white spot syndrome virus infection
Both known and novel miRNAs were identified from red claw crayfish Hpt cell cultures infected with WSSV. Thirty-six host miRNAs showed significantly different expression post WSSV challenge. Differentially expressed miRNAs target diverse key biological processes including autophagy, endocytosis and apoptosis. Shed new light on the miRNAs in the regulation of the immune response against WSSV infection in crustaceans.
