DME (Dimethyl ether) synthesis with CO2 utilization is analyzed thermodynamically.

Single step and two-step DME syntheses are studied and compared with each other.

CO2 addition suppresses CO conversion in MeOH synthesis but increases MeOH yield.

The performance of the single step DME synthesis is better than that of the two-step one.

Increase CO2/CO ratio decreases CO2 conversion but increases CO2 consumption amount.
