Land abandonment is re-shaping and re-scaling traditional mountain landscapes. Multi-scale spatial pattern change is analyzed on abandoned and managed watersheds. Landscape diversity decreased over time with similar spatial behavior. Class-level metrics showed a variety of multi-scalar responses. These analyses have great potential to monitor anthropogenic consequences on biodiversity.
