文摘
First evidence of endogenously produced transferrin cleavage products in vivo. Both macrophages and neutrophils contributed to transferrin cleavage. Macrophages, but not neutrophils, displayed inducible transferrin gene expression. Transferrin cleavage products were generated only in pathogen induced inflammation. Differential transferrin cleavage observed depending on pathogen stimuli.
