A novel TaqMan PCR method specific for poultry DNA was developed. The poultry method consists of a chicken-turkey and duck-geese target used in one PCR reaction. The method is intended for detection of poultry DNA in processed animal proteins (PAPs) in feed. The poultry method showed good efficiency and linearity in DNA isolated from meat. The method excludes important other groups such as pigeons, gulls and ostrich.
