A calibration study of the k-omega SST turbulence model for small scale wind turbines.

Two sets of blades were designed, built, field tested and numerically simulated.

Both the NACA 0012 (symmetrical) airfoil and the NACA 4412 (cambered) were used.

The k-omega SST model was calibrated changing the β* value.

For the two sets of blades, the lowest RMSE value was obtained for β* = 0.27.
