AMPK is involved in cholestatic liver injury with bile acid dysregulation.

CDCA and UDCA inhibit the phosphorylation of AMPK and alleviate estrogen-induced cholestasis.

PKA activation contributes to the CDCA- and UDCA-induced protective effects.

FXR up-regulation may be critical for improvement of cholestasis.
