Sorption capacities of UiO-66-NH2, UiO-66, MOF-199, and ZIF-67 were estimated.

Maximum sorption capacity was obtained as 252 mg g−1 for UiO-66-NH2.

The mechanism was found to be hydrogen bonding and π-π complexation.

The single bondNH terminating MOFs were highly effective in capturing gaseous toluene.
