Ethanol solutions of polyion-surfactant ion complexes show weak temperature dependency. Apparent molar volumes give only an average size of repeat units in solution. Contrary to light scattering reduced viscosity suggests polyelectrolyte behavior. Light scattering reveals 3 populations of species in solutions. Films of complexes offer protection against water that depends on the polyion.
