A novel biosensor was constructed based on composites of graphene oxide and gold nanoparticles and self-assembled by specifically designed peptides. The biosensor can detect thrombin even at concentration of 1 fM. The biosensor revealed promising detection abilities with high sensitivity and specificity for thrombin.
