Effect of Cu substitution on structural and magnetic properties in Zr18Co82-xCux melt spun ribbons studied. As-spun ribbons displayed three phases, viz. R-Zr2Co11, O-Zr2Co11 and fcc Co. Substitution of Cu for Co results in increase of O-Zr2Co11 phase. Saturation magnetization increases from 56 to 101emu/g with increase of Cu content. With increase of Cu, Coercivity (Hc) decreases monotonously from 2250 to 1515 Oe.
