Bioactive compounds, aucubin and acteoside, in plantain (Plantago lanceolata L.) and their effect on in vitro rumen fermentation
文摘
Bioactive compounds, aucubin and acteoside, in plantain were evaluated. Both aucubin and acteoside reduced ammonia production in in vitro digestion. Aucubin reduced acetate and total VFA production indicating antimicrobial activity. Acteoside improved rumen fermentation suggesting its use as energy source. Acteoside potentially has a greater positive effect on nitrogen loss from ruminant.
