We estimate the power outage costs of the industrial sector in South Korea. We analyze the factors affecting the outage costs using a Type II Tobit model. Estimated outage cost is 1.24–1.3 times greater than the simple VoLL-based one. Preannouncement and emergency generators could reduce outage costs.
