The aerodynamic performance of the S809 airfoil was improved effectively by the vortex generators. The lift coefficients were further improved at the higher AOA by the double-VG arrangements. Vortex generators could create longitudinal vortices and greater turbulence distorting the flow around the airfoil. Separation point was moved towards the trailing edge of airfoil by the effects of vortex generators.
