A unified analytic method for free and forced vibrations of stepped conical shells. Stepped thickness and semi-vertex angle are simultaneously accounted for. Arbitrary boundary conditions can be accurately dealt through artificial springs. Results of present method agree well with those of literature and FEM. In-plane displacements obviously affect beam mode and fundamental frequencies.
