Three rare bismuth sulfate (selenite, chromate)-iodates Bi2O(XO4)(IO3)2 (X = S, Se, Cr) are synthesized hydrothermally. The structures exhibit three-dimensional frameworks composed of [Bi4O2]8+ clusters, [IO3]- and [XO4]2- (X = S, Se, Cr). The band gaps of Bi2O(SO4)(IO3)2, Bi2O(SeO4)(IO3)2 and Bi2O(CrO4)(IO3)2 are 3.74 eV, 3.70 eV and 2.40 eV, respectively.
