The progress of the latest national schistosomiasis control program for China was assessed. Dynamics of schistosomiasis prevalence was detected by a Bayesian spatio-temporal model. The goal of “infection rate less than 5% by 2008” was fully achieved. More longitudinal data are needed for assessment of the goal of “infection rate less than 1% by 2015”. The probability contour maps provided more realistic information for schistosomiasis control.
