Li2Fe1/3Mn1/3Ni1/3SiO4/C was obtained by solution process in a ternary system.

The material was pure phase ternary solid solution with tetrahedral morphology.

The spherical particle size was less than 50 nm with graphitized carbon coating.

The nanocomposite revealed high discharge capacity and excellent rate capability.
