Experimental and modeling study of RDX in a novel continuous dryer

In this study, RDX is dehydrated in a novel continuous dryer merging two functions of drying and cooling. Drying time is greatly decreased in the novel dryer compared to long drying period in the original drying cabinet. Ten models are used to describe the drying of RDX, the Midilli-Kucuk model is determined as the most suitable model. Temperature, electrostatic charge and dust monitored in the drying process are well inside the security perimeter. The continuous drying of RDX in the novel developed dryer exhibits a great superiority for energy saving and cost saving.
