Flowerlike Co3O4 nanostructures were prepared with the assistance of Na3Cit·2H2O. The [Co2(LH-1)2]4−complex acts as soft-template and reactant source. Co3O4 nanostructures were obtained through [Co2(CitH−1)2]4− → Co(OH)2 → Co3O4 process. The synthesized flowerlike Co3O4 nanostructures have good catalytic activity.
