A method to make optical mosaic orthogonally crossed gratings by utilizing information about both main periodic directions simultaneously is proposed.

As the angle between two sets of lattice lines is constant, the directions of both sets of lattice lines are adjusted simultaneously by monitoring one latent monitoring area.

A 2×1 mosaic orthogonally crossed grating is made which shows a good mosaic quality.
