A review of methods for producing and using condensed melamine phosphates as flameretardants, and analysis of our own investigations on production of melamine polyphosphate,are presented. Physicochemical properties of obtained products are given including thermalproperties (DTA, TG, and DSC). Effectiveness of action of melamine polyphosphate as flameretardant for polypropylene was tested by a cone calorimeter according to ISO 5660.
